The Neuronal Dynamics Laboratory
at Boston University, led by John A. White, uses electrophysiological and imaging approaches to understand what factors drive neuronal activity and synchronization in cortex and hippocampus. These include intracellular whole-cell recordings from specific neurons in awake animals, wide-field imaging of neuronal calcium activity, optogenetic activation of neurons during behavioral tasks, as well as electrophysiology, pharmacology and histology in acute brain slices.
